On Sunday 9th June a new Eucharistic procession was held in Gaztelueta. Unlike previous years, in which the families and students of the school accompanied the Blessed Sacrament on its route through the school gardens, on this occasion the last event of the school year took place in the Central Pavilion. The unfavourable weather forecast for several days beforehand made it advisable to hold the procession under cover, sheltered from the wind and rain.

At 12 noon many families, teachers and students filled the oratory and the hall of the pavilion to attend the Mass. At the end of the Mass, students from 3rd and 4th ESO accompanied the priest carrying the monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament around the pavilion.

Pupils from Primary 4 who made their first communion last month took part in the procession by throwing rose petals. The procession went along the central aisle and up the new metal staircase to the first floor balcony. From there the Gaztelueta chaplain gave the blessing with the monstrance to the people in the hall.

The procession then went along the entire upper aisle and down the stairs back to the oratory for the final blessing. At the end of the procession, the weather improved, allowing for a lively time of greetings and relaxed chatting in the red square.
