Gaztelueta continues to take firm steps towards the implementation of the International Baccalaureate (IB)The school is a globally recognised educational model for its holistic approach and its preparation for the challenges of the future. In line with its commitment to academic excellence, our school has initiated a strategic plan which includes intensive teacher training and the progressive incorporation of the method in the classroom.
Irati Nuñez, an Early Childhood and Primary School teacher at Gaztelueta, has a degree in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education from the University of Deusto with specialisations in Foreign Language (English), Early Introduction to Languages and Music Education.
She also holds a Master's degree in Management, Evaluation and Quality of Training Institutions from the University of Seville, and has extensive experience as a scientific researcher in management and pedagogical leadership, as well as in approved centres IB.
One of the keys to the implementation of the International Baccalaureate at Gaztelueta as an applicant school is teacher training. Teachers participate in workshops and specialised courses to acquire the necessary tools required by the IB programme. This training not only focuses on academic aspects, but also on promoting skills such as critical thinking, creativity and global mindset among pupils.
On the other hand, the implementation of the method in the classroom is progressing gradually. This year we have already begun to apply IB dynamics, such as interdisciplinary projects, which seek to encourage collaboration between students and connect academic content with real problems in today's world.
Gaztelueta thus reaffirms its commitment to offering its students a quality education, aligned with international standards and focused on forming global citizens.
