The electric vehicles designed by Gaztelueta students have been protagonists in the Greenpower competitions held these weeks in San Mamés (F24 category) and Amorebieta (Goblin category). Our teams not only competed with great enthusiasm, but also achieved excellent results, consolidating Gaztelueta as a benchmark in STEAM educational projects.
In the iconic San Mamés stadium, the F24 team from Gaztelueta - made up of secondary school students - achieved 3rd, 7th and 9th place in a race in which schools from all over the Basque Country participated with a total of 26 vehicles. The technical and demanding urban circuit tested the efficiency, design and strategy of each team.
For their part, the youngest children of the school took part in the race Gobblin of Amorebieta, designed for primary school students. In a festive and familiar atmosphere, the cars Gobblin from Gaztelueta demonstrated their quality and originality, achieving a brilliant 2nd place in the Slalom y Drag. The involvement and joy of the little engineers was, without a doubt, one of the great values of the day.
Both competitions are part of the educational project Greenpowerwhich seeks to bring engineering and sustainability closer to young people through the design, construction and piloting of electric vehicles. An ideal project to develop STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) skills, teamwork, problem solving and environmental commitment.
Gaztelueta would especially like to thank the Ortasa Group, our sponsor, for its unconditional support, as well as to our families for their commitment and motivation. Thanks to their involvement, our students have been able to live this unique experience that goes far beyond a career: it is a boost for the future.
Congratulations to all participants for their effort, creativity and sportsmanship!
