The day was attended by the Mayor of Leioa, Iban Rodríguezwho wanted to accompany the students in this experience. During his speech, the mayor underlined the importance of working from childhood on the creation of safe school routes and the need to reduce the use of the car for short journeys, opting for alternatives such as walking or cycling.

At the school we value this activity very positively, as it connects with our educational project and with the integral education of the pupils. It is also an opportunity for the children to learn, in a practical and close way, that they can also be protagonists in caring for the environment and improving life in the community.

The presence of the mayor was an added motivation for the students, who were able to share their ideas and experiences with him, feeling listened to and involved in a project that directly affects their daily lives.
