Gaztelueta opened its doors today to start a new school year. From first thing in the morning, the corridors have been full of the hustle and bustle that is so typical of September: impeccable backpacks, meetings between friends and the embrace of teachers who are seeing their pupils again. A first day designed to recover order and routine, to get to know the teaching staff and to get to know the new spaces, with the help of the class leaders.
One of the most special moments was, once again this year, the traditional welcome on the staircase for the PEP 4 pupils (1st EP). This ceremony marks the transition from Infant to Primary: step by step, the children symbolise their growth and the new responsibility they face. Amidst applause and smiles, they posed on the stairs and then moved on to the Poly accompanied by their tutors and under the excited gaze of their families.
In the rest of the classes, the stage coordinators welcomed the new students in each section, facilitating their incorporation and resolving practical doubts: timetables, classroom locations, basic rules and school services. The year leaders were waiting for the veteran students in their classrooms. This close welcome has allowed each student to feel at home from the very first moment and the landing to be serene and orderly.
The day was carried out with joy and enthusiasm. In all the classes, there were dynamics of presentation, organisation of materials and first agreements of coexistence. They were also reminded of the objectives of the course and the importance of working with perseverance, spirit of service and companionship.
With this mixture of tradition, accompaniment and good atmosphere, the school is kicking off a year full of opportunities. Over the next few days, informative meetings will be held for each year and the final timetables will be handed out.
