Last week, the Gaztelueta Foundation held its annual event with a conference-colloquium entitled "Companies, NGOs and their social function", given by José Galíndez Zubiría, founder and director of the Gaztelueta Foundation. Solarpack (now Zelestra) and chairman of the family group Beraunberri. This event has established itself as an essential date in the Foundation's calendar, bringing together professionals, students and representatives from the social and business sectors.
In his presentation, Galíndez analysed the impact of ESG objectives, three key criteria that companies and investors use to assess the impact of an organisation's activities on the environment, society and its internal management. This approach allows the sustainability and ethics of a company to be measured, which is increasingly important in business and finance, underlining how companies can actively contribute to sustainable development through ethical and inclusive policies. He also highlighted the essential role of NGOs, underlining their ability to meet social needs and generate significant change where public institutions fall short.
The event provided a space for reflection on the social contribution of business and NGOs, addressing issues such as the efficient management of resources and the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration to achieve a positive impact on society.
The day culminated with a meeting at the Chalet, which allowed participants to exchange impressions and strengthen their networks in a relaxed environment where attendees were able to share their points of view in an enriching and participatory atmosphere.
This annual event reaffirms the commitment of the Gaztelueta Foundation to generate spaces for learning and dialogue that contribute to social welfare and sustainable development.
