The Gaztelueta school has once again been ranked among the 100 best schools in Spain in the ranking compiled by the daily newspaper El Español for the 2025/2026 academic year. This recognition, which the centre has achieved consecutively in recent years, consolidates its position as one of the educational benchmarks at national level and especially highlights its commitment to pedagogical innovation.
In this edition, Gaztelueta is also in second place in the Basque Country in the innovation section, a result that highlights the work carried out in active methodologies, STEAM competences and educational projects aimed at the integral development of the student.

The ranking, which analyses the most outstanding schools in the country, takes into account aspects such as academic quality, internationalisation, personalised attention, the relationship with families and the ability of schools to respond to current educational challenges. As the ranking itself explains, the selection rewards those schools that stand out for their “pedagogical innovations, international projection and educational management models”.
One of the differentiating elements of Gaztelueta's educational model is its commitment to meaningful innovation. The school promotes STEAM projects from the earliest stages, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, teamwork and the resolution of real problems. This approach has been recognised with the STEAM Euskadi seal for several consecutive years, positioning the school among the most innovative schools in the country.
Likewise, the school continues to advance in its process as an International Baccalaureate applicant school, implementing this methodology from Infants onwards. This project reinforces key competencies such as enquiry, reasoning, international mindedness and autonomous learning, aligned with the challenges of today's world.
The ranking also highlights personal accompaniment as one of the pillars of the educational project. Precepting, close treatment and individualised attention make it possible to meet the needs of each student, favouring their academic, human and spiritual growth. In this sense, active collaboration with families is seen as an essential dimension of the educational process.
For Gaztelueta, this recognition is a stimulus to continue advancing in continuous improvement. The centre faces the future with the aim of continuing to offer a comprehensive, innovative and personalised education that helps each student to discover their talent and make a positive contribution to society.
