This competition, entitled "El Derecho y Tú" (The Law and You), is part of the Social Responsibility of the Legal Profession (RSA) initiative and is aimed at secondary school students from all over Spain. Its aim is to instil in young people an attitude of respect for the rules and raise awareness of their impact on the common good, from caring for street furniture to combating gender-based violence, bullying on social networks or promoting equality.

A consolidated project that fosters reflection among young people
The educational programme, developed by the firm's lawyers, includes sessions in schools where current topics of social interest are discussed. In this edition, more than 40 schools have participated in the 96 sessions held over the last year.

After these sessions, the students produce free-format works such as reflections, artistic projects or essays for an external jury, made up of renowned experts, to choose the winners.

This year, Gaztelueta was among the 9 finalists selected from more than 250 projects submitted by schools from all over the country. The awards ceremony, which took place at the Barcelona Bar Association, gave the finalist students the opportunity to meet again Miquel Roca, a key figure in the drafting of the Spanish Constitution, as well as Enrico Letta, President of the Spanish Institute of Law and Economics. Jacques Delorsformer Italian Prime Minister and author of the seminal report Much more than a market.

Social impact themes
Among the topics covered by the students are freedom of expression, copyright, decent housing and children's rights. These works reflect not only the commitment of young people to current problems, but also the active collaboration between law and education to build a fairer society.

The event was once again notable for the involvement of schools, which year after year rely on this initiative as a way of promoting reflection and teamwork among young people.
