Manuel Cuenca <\/strong>He dedicated 14 years of his career to Gaztelueta; he taught at all stages, as head of studies and in the implementation of one of the most valuable elements of Gaztelueta, the personalised education<\/strong>The different teaching teams were trained. He trained in the UPV<\/a> and in the University of Navarra<\/a> and left one of the most endearing legacies for the Alumni, the Academy of Language<\/strong><\/em>. Professor emeritus of the\u00a0University of Deusto<\/a>until 2011 he was the Director of the Institute of Leisure Studies<\/a>He started the centre in 1988, which made it possible to introduce Leisure Studies at the university. Married, with 3 children and 8 grandchildren, in his spare time he enjoys reading and travelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been the best thing about your time at Gaztelueta? <\/strong> The personal transformation I experienced by living for 14 years in a context of family, creativity and self-improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which historical figure would you go to dinner with?<\/strong> With Ram\u00f3n Men\u00e9ndez Pidal, his teachings marked the beginning of my research career.

A phrase that has left its mark on you?<\/strong> I often remember a quote from Jos\u00e9 Manuel Tapia, \"he who runs for his own pleasure, never tires of life\".

Which event do you remember most fondly?<\/strong> I remember many, the last ones that left an impression on me were La fiesta de la Academy of Language<\/em> G-1 of 1984, the Poets of '27 Congress <\/em>with the COU students and my farewell as a teacher at the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With whom would you watch a sunset under the mast?<\/strong> With Jos\u00e9 Manuel Tapia, Jos\u00e9 Alzuet, \u00c1ngel Ram\u00edrez or any of my colleagues from my time, including the directors of the centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you preparing a publication?<\/strong> Rather two, one on the pedagogical innovations that took place in Gaztelueta in the decade of 1973-83, and the other on the meaning of leisure throughout life.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
