The visit is of special interest if we take into account that salt, which is so abundant and so cheap, could have been so important in the past. Salt was and is indispensable in a multitude of industrial processes, as well as in our food. It was even more so when industrial refrigeration systems had not yet been developed, as it was one of the most effective methods for preserving food in good condition.<\/p>\n<p>The salt landscape, unique in the world, is made up of thousands of platforms or threshing floors, springs, canals, wells and warehouses, which the students visited accompanied by expert guides.
