Mariano Llorente, a native of Barakaldo, holds a degree in English Philology from the University of Barakaldo.\u00a0University of Deusto<\/a>, with degrees in Business English and CAP (former University Master's Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has been teaching at Gaztelueta for 35 years and currently works in the Department of English and Social Sciences, teaching ESO students. Her hobbies are photography and cooking, to which she devotes much of her free time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What time do you wake up every morning?<\/strong> Usually at 6.45am but sometimes earlier when the neighbours' alarm clock goes off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your best moment of the day? <\/strong>Without a doubt, breakfast. Coffee, toast with tomato or omelette and the daily newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your favourite film? <\/strong>Chain of favours (Pay it forward<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which historical figure would you go to dinner with?<\/strong> Juan Sebasti\u00e1n Elcano or Juan de Zubileta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What would you eat at your last meal?<\/strong> I would prefer good company to good food, but if I had to choose from the menu I would choose txangurro salad, \u00bd of cod in Pil Pil sauce and \u00bd of baby squid in its own ink, lemon sorbet, \u00bd of suckling pig and beef steak tacos, finishing with a goxua. It sounds like a lot but I don't really know how long the trip lasts...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A phrase that has left its mark on you?<\/strong> Fly as high as possible and remember that without effort there is no reward: No pain, no gain<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been the best thing about your time at Gaztelueta?<\/strong> The satisfaction of seeing the pupils finish school, when they are at university or when they tell you about the jobs they have. So I think I have done my bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which event do you remember most fondly?<\/strong> My first day at Gaztelueta, 1st September 1990 at 8:30 am when the starting time was 9:00 am. The welcome from my classmates was excellent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With whom would you watch a sunset under this mast?<\/strong> From the educational point of view with my mentor Mr. Roland Fisher, Mr. Luisfer Goyeneche and a few colleagues recently signed up to have a get-together about Gaztelueta. Earl Grey <\/em>with scones<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
