The project presented by Gaztelueta has been the winner of the regional edition of the Zinkers Basque Country Awards<\/strong> 2025, proclaiming itself the best project in the Basque Country, a recognition that fills us with pride and reflects the commitment of our students and teachers to innovation, sustainability and active learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project presented is the Building electric cars from plastic bottles and other recycled materials<\/strong><\/em>which is part of the IB's transdisciplinary theme 'How the world works'. Through this proposal, our students have explored how natural systems interact with human activity, with a particular focus on science, technology and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The central idea guiding this work has been clear: \"Creativity and the responsible use of technology make it possible to build sustainable solutions for the future\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students have investigated in depth the different energy sources, especially clean energy sources, the functioning of electric motors and simple circuits, the environmental impact of consumption and the importance of reusing materials. They have also learned to appreciate the relevance of design, teamwork and problem solving in developing real solutions to the challenges of today's world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Gaztelueta<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The result has been the construction of small electric vehicles made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles, cardboard and reused electronic components. The entire process has been documented and presented according to the programme's guidelines, leading the project to reach the national final phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
