Second place went to the 'Azkar Jesuitinas' team from the school in Bilbao and third place to 'Green Georgians'.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-embed-field-responsive-video form-group\"><iframe width=\"854\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HQrrQkqMKVQ?autoplay=1&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/kidskitcar.org\/kidskitcar\" title=\"Greenpower Iberia Circuit - Bridgestone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greenpower Iberia-Bridgestone' circuit<\/a><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/es\/noticias\/carrera-de-coches-electricos-en-san-mames\" title=\"Electric car race in San Mam\u00e9s\">consists of a set of racing cars<\/a> in which the participants, children and young people aged between 9 and 25, have to design and build their own electric car in order to be able to take part. The tests were based on the number of laps the vehicles were able to complete on a pre-established route with a combination of electric motor and batteries - identical for all - and open to the design of the car's bodywork, as well as its mechanical and electrical aspects to improve its performance. In addition, there was also a <em>slalom<\/em> and <em>acceleration<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Carrera de coches el\u00e9ctricos en Barakaldo\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"2589bcff-fa97-4df8-a041-8d91ce85461d\" height=\"545\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Carrera-de-coches-electricos-en-Barakaldo_.jpeg\" width=\"727\" class=\"align-center\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>In the competitions of this pedagogical innovation project, <strong>the winner is the one who manages to drive the most kilometres without draining the battery, so the fastest does not win,<\/strong> but the one that drives in an energy-efficient and sustainable manner. The school teams won up to six awards, including the overall winner of the competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Greenpower is a foundation that was born in the UK in the late 1990s, with the intention that children from the age of 9 learn and practice technical, leadership and teamwork skills, with the challenge of designing and building an electric vehicle themselves in order to win a race.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From this year onwards, primary school pupils have access to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/es\/noticias\/science-subject-becomes-greenpower-primary\" title=\"greenpower course at Gaztelueta\">\u00a0a subject where it is developed exclusively<\/a>\u00a0the Greenpower project, although they already come <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/es\/noticias\/carrera-de-coches-electricos-por-la-gran-de-bilbao\" title=\"Electric car race in Bilbao\">competing in different races for some years now.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Several families from the school collaborated voluntarily to ensure that everything went smoothly.
