{"id":1312,"date":"2021-09-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/alumni-gaztelueta-participa-en-la-clasica-astorki\/"},"modified":"2022-05-19T10:06:17","modified_gmt":"2022-05-19T10:06:17","slug":"alumni-gaztelueta-participa-en-la-clasica-astorki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/en\/noticias\/alumni-gaztelueta-participa-en-la-clasica-astorki\/","title":{"rendered":"Alumni Gaztelueta takes part in the Astorki Classical Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a period in which, little by little, and thanks to the impetus of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/es\/antiguos-alumnos\" title=\"Gaztelueta Alumni\">Alumni Association<\/a><\/strong>In September, the school's Cycling Club has taken shape again, with its season premiere taking place in September.<\/p>\n<p>It was in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CUCf3vJg77O\/\" title=\"Instagram Gaztelueta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">XXIV edition of the 'Fernando Astorki' Cycle Tour Classic,<\/a><\/strong> in which more than 300 riders from different teams and associations took part. After the starting flag was raised on the Boulevard de Leioa by Igor Ant\u00f3n himself, a former doctor in the Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a, the cyclists rode 95km through the following routes<strong>\u00a0Larrabetzu, the Morga and Gernika ramps, before climbing to the top of Rigoitia. After the refreshments, the return journey was via Unbe.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Antiguos_alumnos_gaztelueta_vuelta_ciclista\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"49977316-8054-4000-9730-21d12fc98528\" height=\"483\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Clasica_Cicloturista_Fernando_Astorki.jpg\" width=\"685\" class=\"align-center\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>The school had its own cycling representation, made up of parents, former pupils and teachers. In addition, some families and current students collaborated by marking the route and helping at the start and refreshment stations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In its day, the Vuelta Ciclista Gaztelueta marked an era in the school, in Bizkaia and in the cycling world, being the oldest event after the Vuelta Ciclista a Espa\u00f1a. Now, thanks to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leioa.net\/es\/\" title=\"Leioa City Council\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leioa City Council<\/a><\/strong> and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikezona.com\/clubs-ciclismo\/sociedad-ciclista-txorierri\/2398\" title=\"Txori-Erri Cycling Society\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Txori-Erri Cycling Society<\/a><\/strong>With the aim of bringing cycling back to Gaztelueta, the school wanted to join the organisation of the 'Cl\u00e1sica Fernando Astorki' race in Leioa, which has been organised by Gaztelueta Alumni for 24 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Vuelta Ciclista Fernando Astorki \" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"e1548a57-442f-4aa8-92dd-c61d09af71d7\" height=\"542\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gaztelueta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Vuelta-Ciclista-Fernando-Astorki.jpg\" width=\"722\" class=\"align-center\" title=\"\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a period in which, little by little and thanks to the impetus of the Alumni Association, the school's Cycling Club has taken shape once again, in September it made its seasonal debut.
