We end the month of May by sharing the excitement with which our Primary 4 pupils have received the sacrament of communion for the first time. Receiving Jesus for the first time in the sacrament of communion is a transcendental moment in the life of a Christian, as it marks for our pupils the full initiation into the Catholic community, symbolising intimate union with Christ and the Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the last few years, our students have been carefully preparing for this special moment in the company of their families, the school priests and their teachers, in a shared effort to spread among our students the importance of the Eucharist, the sacrifice of Jesus and the real presence of Christ in the consecrated bread and wine. This time of preparation also includes participation in confession<\/a>where children receive the sacrament of reconciliation, preparing themselves to receive Jesus with a pure heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Receiving Jesus for the first time in the sacrament of communion is a moment of deep spiritual significance, marking the beginning of a closer relationship with Christ and a fuller integration into the life of the Church. An occasion of joy, renewal and commitment to the Catholic faith, which our students have shared with their families and friends and which will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on their lives.
